Programming HistoryI started programming when I was just 11 years old. I had a dream of becoming a Minecraft Modder and getting one of my mods on those big Minecraft modpacks. I started by learning from YouTube channels like TheNewBoston to get a basic grasp of Java. I then followed many, many tutorials from teachers all over the internet on how to make a Minecraft mod.
Eventually, I released my first Minecraft Mod, "Mo' Furnaces Mod" and it was received very well by the Minecraft community. I worked with another programmer and a texture designer based in the Netherlands. The Dropbox download had nearly 200,000 downloads when I finally took the mod down. I just didn't have the time to keep it updated nor the desire. Minecraft was a thing of the past for me. |
CodecademyCodecademy was the next step in my programming career. After I tried to learn Java, I decided to branch out and see what I could do with other programming languages. I couldn't really decide whether I wanted to make games, utility software, or websites. Everything was kind of fuzzy, but Codecademy introduced me to HTML/CSS programming and JavaScript. Now, I can use that knowledge to dissect website code and do other fun things. So, while this wasn't a super important step in my programming career, it taught me the basics of a new programming language.

Swift and App DevelopmentCurrently in my programming career, I'm learning the Swift programming language so I can begin making iPhone apps. Because of the programming knowledge I gained from learning Java for about 4 years, it's much easier to pick up a new language and I'm making leaps and bounds of progress in Swift.
Stay tuned for some apps that I'm planning to release in 2017! Follow my social media to get updates when I release new stuff :) |
